The Journey

How we started

In 2015, our founder, Charmeachealle Moore, faced a life-altering challenge that would ultimately shape the mission behind everything we do today, including our focus on athlete empowerment. On April 17, 2015, at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, Charmeachealle underwent brain surgery to remove a pituitary tumor discovered through an incidental finding while his body battled rhabdomyolysis.

Eight out of nine doctors told him his football career was over—that his skull would have to be cracked open, and he would spend the rest of his life on medication. However, one doctor believed in a different path. Through what was, at the time, an experimental procedure, surgeons entered through his nasal canal, breaking his nose and cutting piece by piece to remove the tumor without opening his skull. This innovative approach not only saved his life but also paved the way for his transition to corporate. Against all odds, the surgery was a success and changed the trajectory of his life forever.

In 2015, founder Charmeachealle Moore underwent life-changing brain surgery at the National Institutes of Health to remove a pituitary tumor. Eight of nine doctors said his football career was over, but one offered an experimental procedure that removed the tumor through his nasal canal, avoiding open-skull surgery. Against all odds, he recovered.

Just three months later, Charmeachealle lost his father—his mentor and best friend. Through grief, he remembered his parents’ words: “We don’t quit anything we start—we finish through the end.” Choosing to persevere, he finished his career at Kansas State, helping Coach Snyder earn his 100th win, and transitioned to corporate life by playing in the NFL with the LA Chargers.

These trials of faith, resilience, and purpose laid the foundation for what would become the mission to empower athletes and impact schools, families, and future generations through our programs today.

After overcoming brain surgery and achieving his dream of playing in the NFL for the LA Chargers, Charmeachealle Moore faced another significant setback when back surgery abruptly ended his career. The harsh reality hit: “Moore, we can’t and won’t pay for your body anymore.” Having sacrificed everything to reach the NFL, only to have it taken away in an instant, he spiraled into a dark space, battling depression and thoughts of suicide.

During this challenging time, Moore had a pivotal conversation with Chrysa Chin, Vice President of the NBPA, who emphasized the importance of athlete empowerment. She listened, understood his pain, and said words that would change his life: “Nobody ever taught you the business side of this game—they only prepared you for the physical side. If you want to make a real change, educate yourself first. Then you can create true impact in all sports.” That moment lit a spark in Moore, giving him clarity and direction.

His struggles continued as he attempted to transition to corporate America through the NFL’s programs, only to discover that many companies weren’t genuinely interested in hiring former athletes—they wanted the partnership logo, not the player. This experience revealed systemic cracks that left athletes behind after they had given everything to the game.

When a group of NFL Hall of Famers proposed that Commissioner Roger Goodell take a $10 million pay cut to provide lifetime health insurance for retired players—and were rejected—Moore realized the problem wasn’t just his individual story; it was a broken system.

Fueled by these experiences and that life-changing conversation, Moore committed to building a new pathway for athlete empowerment: a system that would help Title IX and professional athletes transition to corporate America with real opportunities, gain meaningful work experience, and build lasting relationships in business—all while giving back to their communities.

In addition to his experiences in sports and education, Charmeachealle Moore’s upbringing in his family’s landscaping business played a pivotal role in shaping his approach to leadership and business. Growing up, he often heard his father say, “If I could just have dependable employees, we could take this business to the next level.” That statement stuck with him, planting the seed for what would later become his passion: helping business owners unlock the full potential of their teams through athlete empowerment.

His journey in professional sports only strengthened this belief. Moore saw firsthand that a strong culture and an ultimate team mentality could elevate any organization. It became clear to him—who better to teach this than professional athletes and veterans? These individuals are trained to thrive in team environments, holding each other accountable, and pushing one another to become the best version of themselves for the success of the group.

Moore’s vision was simple yet powerful: if businesses could adopt this culture and mindset, they would not only build stronger teams but also see increased productivity, higher profit margins, and a lasting impact in their communities. This philosophy became a cornerstone of his work, blending the lessons of family, sports, and service into a model that strengthens companies while aiding their transition to corporate success.

Fueled by his own life experiences, Charmeachealle Moore is dedicated to athlete empowerment and committed to creating opportunities that enable athletes, veterans, families, businesses, and communities to thrive. His mission is to shape a future rooted in hope, purpose, and lasting impact for all. Moore’s love for people and belief in their potential inspire him to drive meaningful change every day.

As a devoted husband to his wife, Victoria, and father of five beautiful children, Charmeachealle Moore dedicates his life to building a better world—not just for his family but for every family around him. He believes that when you strengthen the family unit, you possess the power to transform a community, a city, a state, a nation—and ultimately, the world.
